3 killed as BGB bus collides with leguna in Lohagara

Three people were killed and four others injured in a head-on collision between a bus of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and a leguna in Chattogram on Saturday morning.

The accident took place at Jangalia-Chakaria border gate area under Chunati union in Lohagara upazila around 8:30am. 

The deceased were identified as Md Hamidullah, 32, son of Abul Bashar of 9 no ward Kolatoli area under Harbang union at Chakaria upazila in Cox’s Bazar, Jahangir Alam, 22, son of Lal Miah and Nazrul Islam, 30, son of Danu Miah.  

All the deceased were the passengers of the leguna, said the Fire Service. 

Shafiul Azam, a fire fighter of Lohagara Fire Service and Civil Defence, said being informed at 8:45am, we rushed to the spot and recovered two dead bodies from there. Earlier, local people took the injured people to the hospital where the on-duty doctor declared one of them dead.
