Expatriates send $156.12cr remittance in February

The expatriate Bangladeshis sent remittances of around $156.12 crore (equivalent to about Tk 16,705 crore) in February, the eighth month of the current fiscal year 2022-23.

The amount is about $39.76 crore less than that of January when the country saw $195.88 crore in remittance, Bangladesh Bank said in its updated report on Wednesday.

The amount is, however, around $06.68 crore more compared to the same period of FY 2021-22 when the country received $149.44 crore in remittance. 

According to the BB report, the most $124 crore remittance came through private banks, $27.57 crore through state-owned banks and $3.88 crore through two specialized banks.
