The High Court (HC) on Monday directed the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) to probe into the alleged nine homes owned by Awami League MP Abdus Sobhan Miah alias Golap in New York of United States.
An HC bench of Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice Khizir Hayat passed the order after hearing a writ petition filed by Barrister Saydul Haque Sumon in this regard.
The ACC was also ordered to submit a report to the court within four months after the investigation.

Earlier on Sunday, Barrister Suman filed the writ in the public interest.
Chief Election Commissioner, ACC Chairman, National Board of Revenue Chairman and Secretary to the Home Ministry were made respondents in the writ.
Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP), a global network of investigative journalists, in a report said Md Abdus Sobhan Miah (Golap), a lawmaker from Madaripur-3, purchased a total of nine properties (flats/homes), worth around $40 lakh in New York between 2014 and 2019, but he did not mention the wealth information in his election affidavit.
