A fire that broke out at Korail slum in Dhaka was brought under control on Sunday afternoon.
The fire originated from a stove after 4pm and burnt 50-60 shanties of the slum, said Lt. Col. Mohammad Tajul Islam Chowdhury, Director (Operations and Maintenance) of Fire Service and Civil Defence Directorate.
Being informed at 4:30pm, nine fire service units rushed to the spot and douse the fire at 5.33pm.
