A man was killed as a vehicle ran over him in Demra area under Jatrabari Police Station in capital Dhaka early Sunday.
Deceased Md Monir Sarder, 45, hailed from North Andharchar village in Kalkini upazila of Madaripur and lived in a rented house in Konapara area of Demra.
Quoting locals, Jatrabari Police Station officer in-charge Azharul Islam said an unidentified speedy vehicle hit and ran over the man in front of Konapara bus stand around 5:30 am when he was crossing the road, leaving him dead on the spot.
Later, the body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue, he added.
