Ahead of Oscars 2023, RRR to re-release across US on March 3

SS Rajamouli's magnum opus RRR is going to be back in theaters in the US on March 3 in the run up to the Oscars. Variance Films, which distributed RRR in the US, made the announcement on their social media, reports India Today.

The entire RRR team will be in the US for the Oscars. While music director MM Keeravaani is already there with lyricist Chandra Bose, Ram Charan is in New York. He appeared on the Good Morning Show and will now make his way to LA. Since there was a bereavement in Jr NTR's family, he will fly to the US soon.

RAJAMOULI ON RRR AND OSCARS

Unfortunately, RRR was not India's official Oscar entry and director SS Rajamouli had earlier stated that he was disappointed by this. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he said, "Yeah, it is disappointing. But we are not the kind of people who would sit and brood about why it didn’t happen. What has happened has happened, and we should go forward with it. But I am happy because it (Chhello Show/ The Last Film Show) is also an Indian film and it has also been shortlisted for Oscars. I’m quite happy for it. Of course, everyone knew RRR had a much bigger chance. Here (in the US) everyone felt RRR had a bigger chance. But I don’t know how the committee (Film Federation of India), what are guidelines for the committee. I don’t know that and I can’t comment on that.”
