Two people died after a massive fire broke out at 12-storey residential building at road no 104 in Gulshan-2 of the capital on Sunday evening.
Raju, who used to work as a chef at the building, died at Shikder Medical College Hospital around 4am on Monday.
Earlier, Anwar Hossain, 30, son of Md Nur Islam of Didarulla village at Doulatkhan upazila in Bhola, died after jumping off the 7th floor of the building to escape the fire. He also used to work as the chef at the house of BCB Director Fahim Sinha.
Abdul Ahad, Deputy Commissioner of Gulshan Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), said two people died in Gulshan building fire incident so far. Two more injured are undergoing treatment at the hospital in a critical condition.
Quoting the Fire Service and Civil Defence, he said the fire originated from short circuit.
He also said RAJUK, Fire Service and other agencies will see whether the fire safety measure was there or not. We are only looking at the security of the building.
It is mentionable that, the massive fire broke out at the building around 6:59pm on Sunday and was brought under control around 11pm.
