A writ has been filed with the High Court challenging the legality of the notice of Dhaka University's Bangla department that asked its students to keep their faces uncovered during examinations and presentations.
DU Vice-Chancellor, Registrar and Chairman of the Bangla Department, have been made respondents of the petition filed by lawyer Faizullah Foyez, who represents three students of the university.
A High Court division bench comprising Justice Farah Mahbub and Justice Ahmed Sohail will hear the writ this week, court sources said.
On December 11 last year, the Bangla Department issued a notice asking the female students to keep their faces and ears uncovered during all examinations, including viva and presentations.
