All schools close over security concern at Kalyanpur

At least 30 schools around the main road of Kalyanpur and its adjacent areas were ordered to remain closed for Tuesday for security reasons following the gunfight between law enforcers and militants that left nine alleged extremists killed in city’s Kalyanpur.S Ahmed Khan Saiful, headmaster of Holy Crescent Model School confirmed matter by saying that Dhaka Metropolitan Police authority instructed all the educational institutions to resume their classes on Wednesday. Earlier, nine alleged militants were killed in what police described as ‘gunfight’ during a special operation of the joint forces in Dhaka’s Kalyanpur area early this morning.SWAT, Rapid Action Battalion (Rab), detectives and Dhaka police jointly carried out the one-hour operation ‘Storm 26’ from 5:51am in continuation of last night’s raid.
