A court in Chattogram has framed charges against BNP leader Aslam Chowdhury in two cases filed for allegedly torching vehicles in Sitakunda upazila of the district.
The court of Chattogram's 5th Additional District and Session Judge Mohammad Sharifur Rahman indicted him on Wednesday.
The court public prosecutor Sheikh Iftekhar Saimul Chowdhury confirmed the matter to Jago News.
Police lodged the cases with Sitakunda Police Station on November 17 and December 24 of 2013 for the alleged torching of vehicles during picketing on the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway.

A case statement said BNP leaders and activities set vehicles on fire in Bottala area under Sitakunda Police Station on November 16 of 2013 in direction of Aslam Chowdhury. They also attacked police when they obstructed them.
According to another case statement, the BNP men burned shops and chanties in Madambibihat area of Sitakunda on December 23 of the same year.
