Expatriates send $195.88cr remittance in January

The expatriate Bangladeshis sent remittances of around $195.88 crore, which is equivalent to about Tk 20,959 crore, in January, the seventh month of the current fiscal year 2022-23.

The amount is about $25.91 crore more than that of December, and around 25.43 crore more compared to the same period of FY 2021-22 when the country received $170.45 crore in remittance, Bangladesh Bank said in its updated report on Wednesday.

In January, the most remittance came through Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited (IBBL) followed by Mercantile Bank and Al Farah Islami Bank Ltd.
