A court in Kushtia has sentenced six local leaders and activists of Awami League in a murder case.
The lifers are Abdullah, Rubel, Kashem, Ruhul Amin, Nazrul and Farid, residents of Panti village in Kumarkhali upazila of the district. They all are local AL leaders and activists.
Kushtia Additional District and Session Judge Court judge Md Tajul Islam pronounced the verdict.
The judge also fined them Tk 20,000 each and acquitted 29 other accused from the charges.

The court public prosecutor (PP) Anup Kumar Nandi Roy confirmed the matter to Jago News.
Sources in the court said Abdullah Al Manzu, son of Abdur Razzaque, a resident of Chairman Para of Panti village, was hacked to death in April of 2012.
Later, his father lodged a murder case in this connection.
