Five people including a Shwechchasebak League leader have been sued in a case filed over the incident of shooting that injured one person in front of a restaurant named Gloria Jean’s Coffees in the capital’s Gulshan-1 on Sunday.
They are Md Abdul Wahid, the Vice President of Dhaka City (north) unit of Shwechchasebak League, Arif Hossain, Monir Ahmed, Shariful and Humayun. Three of them were arrested but Shariful and Humayun are on the run.
Md Shakir, Sub Inspector of Gulshan Police Station, confirmed the matter to Jago News on Monday.
He said, the injured pedestrian Aminul Islam filed the case against them. The arrested people will be produced before the court. The drive is underway to arrest the rest two.
However, Deputy Commissioner of Gulshan Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Md Abdul Ahad said that the gun-fire incident happened in Gulshan due to a dispute over financial matters with a businessman of that area.
