Mirza Fakhrul hospitalised for health check-up

Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, the Secretary General of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), has been admitted to a hospital in the capital for health check-up.

He was admitted to the Evercare Hospital in the capital on Sunday morning as he was released from jail last week after spending almost a month in prison.

BNP media wing member Shayrul Kabir Khan confirmed the matter to Jago News.

He walked out of Dhaka Central Jail in Keraniganj on January 9 after the bail order reached the jail authorities.

On January 8, the Appellate Division upheld the High Court order granting bail to Fakhrul and BNP standing committee member Mirza Abbas in a case filed over the clash between police and the party activists at Nayapaltan on December 7 last year.

On December 8 last year, the detectives detained Mirza Fakhrul and Mirza Abbas from their respective homes in the capital.

Later, they showed them arrested in a case filed with Paltan Police Station over the clash.
