Tarique’s jail: BNP to stage demo again

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) declared to stage demonstration again across the country on Wednesday protesting HC’s verdict that Tarique Rahman, senior Vice-chairman of BNP was sentenced to seven years’ jail and fined Tk 20 crore over money laundering charge on Thursday. Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Joint Secretary General of BNP declared about the demonstration at Patry’s Central Office in city’s Naya Palton on Monday morning.Earlier, BNP staged a demo on Saturday in this regards.Rizvi alleged that at least 22 leaders and activists of BNP were arrested after Tarique Rahman’s verdict.Earlier, on Thursday the HC bench comprising of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Amir Hossain sentenced Tarique Rahman to seven years’ jail and fined Tk 20 crore over money laundering charge.
