The technical committee of the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has recommended raising the power price by Tk 1.21 per unit at the retail level.
The disclosure was made after a public hearing on the proposals placed by power distribution companies at BIAM Auditorium in capital Dhaka on Sunday.
BERC Chairman Md Abdul Jalil and four members were present at the hearing.
Now retail electricity price is Tk 7.02 per unit. The BERC technical committee recommended increasing it to 8.23, hiking by Tk 1.21 per unit.
