Fardin murder case: Bushra gets bail after 59 days

A Dhaka court has granted bail to Amatullah Bushra in a case lodged over the murder of her friend and BUET student Fardin Noor Parash, 24.

Judge Tehsin Ifthekher of Dhaka’s Seventh Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court, passed the order on Sunday.

Earlier on January 5, the court set January 8 for giving its verdict on the bail petition of Bushra in the case.

On December 14 last year, DB police said Fardin was not murdered, rather he committed suicide.

On December 15, DB chief Mohammad Harun-Or-Rashid told journalists that Bushra has no any involvement in the death of BUET student Fardin. The matter will be mentioned in the charge sheet of the case.

Police on November 10 arrested Bushra from her Rampura residence and produced her before the court, pleading to place her on seven-day remand. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mehedi Hasan had placed her on five-day remand on that day.

Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) student Fardin went missing on November 5 and his body was found in the Shitalakshya River on November 7. His autopsy report suggested Fardin was murdered as there were injuries on the body.
