Govt never interferes in trial procedure: Anisul

Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq on Friday said the present government never interferes in trial procedure and the courts always take their decision independently.

"...Attorney General told me that there was inconsistency in the way High Court gave bail to Mirza Fakhrul, that is why he (AG) filed a petition against it with the Appellate Division," the law minister said while talking to newsmen regarding the BNP leaders' bail.

Replying to a question on the misconduct of some lawyers with a judge at a Brahmanbaria court, the law minister said this is now a matter of court and the court will look into it.

"The district judge and other judges have lodged complaints with the chief justice and sent a video of the incident. I have heard that in the video clipping, it was seen that they (lawyers) behaved very badly with a judge. The High Court has already issued a contempt of court rule, now the court will dispose of the matter," Anisul added.

The minister said this at Akhaura Railway Station in Brahmanbaria as he was on his way to Kasba for taking part in different programmes.
