Court orders to confiscate property of Tarique, Zubaida

A court in Dhaka has ordered the confiscation of movable and immovable property of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman and his wife Dr Zubaida Rahman in a corruption case.

The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Session Judge Md Asaduzzaman gave the order on Thursday.

It also asked the officer -in-charge of Cantonment Police Station to submit the progress report of the confiscation by January 19.

ACC court inspector Aminul Islam confirmed the matter.

Earlier on November 1, 2022, a court issued an arrest warrant against them

The Anti-Corruption Commission filed the case against Tarique Rahman, Zubaida Rahman and his mother-in-law Iqbal Mand Banu with Kafrul Police Station in the capital on September 26, 2007, for allegedly amassing around Tk 4.81 crore and beyond known income sources.

In 2008. the anti-graft body pressed charges against the trio.
