Kazi Hayat and Shahin Sumon have been elected as President and Secretary General of Bangladesh Film Directors’ Association (BFDA) respectively for the next two years.
After counting the votes, Chief Election Commissioner Abdul Latif Bachchu announced the result at 12:30am on Saturday.
Other elected office bearers of the BFDA are: Vice President Chatku Ahmed, Deputy Secretary General Kabirul Islam Rana, Treasurer Selim Azam, Organizing Secretary Shahin Kabir Tutul, International and ICT Secretary Nur Mohammad Moni, Sports Secretary Abdur Rahim Babu and Publicity, Publication and Office Secretary Wazed Ali Bablu.
Ten elected executive members are Iftekher Jahan, SD Rubel, Palli Malek, Bazlur Rashed Chowdhury, Montazur Rahman Akbar, Mostafizur Rahman Manik, Maria Afrin Tushar, Shah Alam Kiron, Shahadat Hossain Liton and Sohanur Rahman Sohan.
The biennial general election of the BFDA started at Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) in the capital at 10am and continued till 5pm on Friday.
