A total of 500 chief executive level officers and 2,500 middle managers of IT companies will be given training under a 'CXO' and Advanced Certification for Management Professionals (ACMP) courses of IBA.
Institute of Business Administration (IBA) of Dhaka University and Enhancing Digital Government and Economy (EDGE) Project of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in this regard, said a press release.
Project Director of EDGE Dr Muhammed Mehedi Hasan and Director of IBA Professor Mohammad A. Momen put initials on the MoU on behalf of their respective sides.
Senior Secretary of ICT Division N M Zeaul Alam and Managing Director of Startup Bangladesh Sami Ahmed, Professor of IBA Sheikh Morshed Jahan, Deputy Project Director of EDGE Mohammad Saiful Alam Khan, Team Leader of Digital Leadership Academy (DLA) Dr Mahfuz Shamim were, among others, present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion Zeaul Alam said the government's next target is to achieve Smart Bangladesh by 2041. The EDGE, a flagship project of BCC has been taken not only to help flourish country's ICT sector, but also to help fulfill the dream of Smart Bangladesh, he added.
Sami Ahmed said the government has undertaken various initiatives to flourish startup culture in the country. The initiative to mentor 500 startup initiatives by IBA will be a unique effort on way to flourish startup, he added.
Dr. Mehedi said skill development of officials and entrepreneurs are very important to create new entrepreneurs and progress of ICT sector because they played vital role to expand business of their respective companies as well as contribute to the ICT sector.
