Shah Rukh only Indian in global list of 50 greatest actors of all time

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan featured in an international list of 50 greatest actors of all time. Created by Empire Magazine, the list contains some of the biggest, most memorable names in the movie industry like Marlon Brando, Tom Hanks and Kate Winslet. Shah Rukh is the only actor from India to join them, reports Hindustan Times.

The list includes Shah Rukh's name citing some of the notable roles of his decades-long career. This includes Rahul Khanna from Karan Johar's Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Devdas Mukherji from Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Devdas, Mohan Bhargava from Ashutosh Gowariker's Swades and Rizwan Khan from Karan Johar's My Name is Khan.

The magazine further cites, "Ms. Marvel’s favourite movie star has a career that has now spanned four decades of near unbroken hits, and a fanbase of pretty much billions. You don’t do that without outrageous amounts of charisma and absolute mastery of your craft. Comfortable in almost every genre going, there’s pretty much nothing he can’t do."

The Om Shanti Om star is the only Indian actor on the list, alongside some most memorable stars of cinema, from all over the world like Al Pacino, Joaquin Phoenix, and Leonardo DiCaprio. The list also includes an iconic dialogue of Shah Rukh from the film Jab Tak Hai Jaan: “Every day life kills us a little. A bomb will kill you only once.”

He played an Indian Army Major named Samar Anand in the film, which marked the last directorial feature from Yash Chopra. It also starred Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma.

Shah Rukh was last seen in a cameo appearance in Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra. The film starred Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in lead roles. Shah Rukh will be next seen in Siddharth Anand's directorial Pathaan where he stars alongside Deepika Padukone and John Abraham. The first song from the film, Besharam Rang recently faced controversy with many objecting to the outfits of the song, including a saffron bikini worn by Deepika.

Pathaan releases next year on January 25.
