RFL wants to lead in light engineering sector: Ahsan Khan Chowdhury

RFL Group wants to lead in the light engineering sector of the country from the front, said its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Ahsan Khan Chowdhury.

He said this while speaking at the opening ceremony of the second bicycle manufacturing factory of RFL at Lalchandpur in Gangachara upazila of Rangpur on Thursday. 

He said the country's light engineering sector developed, import dependency of various types of products of this sector, including bicycles, decreased, and export income of it increases gradually as a result of different steps by the present government.

Ahsan Khan Chowdhury said, "Light engineering sector will be able to create a strong position in the country's export-import commerce very soon and RFL Group wants to lead in from the front."

RFL Group launched its second bicycle factory in Rangpur's Gangachara as its demand rose in the local and export market, he said.

All cycles of the local market will be manufactured here, he added.

He also said the annual production capacity of the factory will be around six lakh pieces if it goes to full production.

The factory has been installed with a view to creating skilled manpower in the sector and making employment in the country's northern region, said the chairman and CEO of the country's leading business conglomerate PRAN-RFL Group.

Opposition Chief Whip in Parliament Mashiur Rahman Ranga, Senior Secretary of the Commerce Ministry Tapan Kanti Ghosh, Deputy Inspector General for Rangpur Range of Bangladesh Police Mohd Abdul Alim Mahmud, Senior Vice-president of FBCCI Mostafa Azad Chowdhury Babu, Deputy Commissioner of Rangpur Dr Chitralekha Nazneen, Superintendent of Police Ferdous Ali Chowdhury, and Managing Director of PRAN-RFL Group RN Paul also spoke in the program.
