BNP Standing Committee Member Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain has said the countrymen won, and the government conceded loss on December 10.
He said BNP's Dhaka divisional mass rally turned into a human sea despite so many obstacles and arrests.
He also said the government thought it will foil the rally by arresting BNP leaders and activists but its effort was in vain.
"The country's people and the Bangladesh nationalist force won on December 10 and the government was forced to concede defeat," he added.
Khandaker Mosharraf made the remarks while speaking at BNP's protest rally in front of the party's Nayapaltan central office in capital Dhaka on Tuesday afternoon.
BNP's Dhaka North, and South city units organized the rally protesting the arrests of the party's Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Standing Committee Member Mirza Abbas, Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, and many other leaders-activists.
Claiming common people also joined the December 10 mass rally besides BNP men, he said the people gave a message there that they want to get rid of this government.
At today's protest rally, the party's Standing Committee Member Abdul Moyeen Khan told the government to hand over power to a non-party government and make arrangements for election under a neutral election commission.
BNP's Standing Committee Members Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury and Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku, and its Dhaka North city unit convener Aman Ullah Aman, among others, spoke in the program.
