Youth's throat-slit body recovered in Netrakona

Police have recovered the throat-slit body of a young man in Mohanganj upazila of Netrakona district.

Deceased Md Sharif Ahmed, 22, was the son of Md Zamrul Islam, a resident of Pashchim Para area of Joypur village in the upazila.

The body was retrieved in Joypur village on Saturday night, Mohanganj Police Station officer in-charge Md Rafiqul Islam told Jago News on Sunday afternoon.

Victim's brother-in-law Zakir Hossain Pavel said a neighbor noticed Sharif with his throat slit in a field near their home. 

Later, family members rushed him to Mohanganj Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared him dead, he said.

Being informed, police recovered the body and sent it to hospital morgue, Pavel added.

Mentioning that Sharif has a seven-year-old daughter, he also said they cannot suspect anyone for the murder and will file a case later in this connection.

Terming Sharif's death as a very sad incident, union parishad chairman Aminul Islam Khan Shohel demanded to find out the killer and ensure the highest punishment.

OC Rafique, however, said they detained a youth to question over the murder but he did not disclose the identity of the detainee.

Barhatta Circle (Mohanganj-Barhatta) additional police superintendent Md Saidur Rahman said they found some clues of the killing and he hoped they can reveal the motive of the murder soon.
