Three people were killed in a head-on collision between a bus and a pickup van on Dinajpur-Dhaka highway at Bhimpur area in Fulbari upazila of Dinajpur early Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Oliullah, 22, driver of the pickup, son of Jentu Ali, of Durgapur village at Gomostapur upazila in Chapainawabganj, Azizur Rahman Nishan, 24, helper of the pickup driver, son of Setabur Rahman of the same upazila and Mottasim Billah, 25, son of Nurul Islam, of Adarsha College Para village in Fulbari upazila.
Md Ashraful Islam, Officer-in-charge of Fulbari Police Station, confirmed the matter to Jago News.
He said, a Dinajpur-bound bus of Shyamoli Paribahan collided head-on with a Chapainawabganj-bound tomato-laden pickup van in the area due to dense fog. At that time, three people were killed on the spot.
Being informed, police and fire service members rushed to the spot and recovered the dead bodies. An UD case was filed in this connection, the OC added.
