Police arrested 1,356 people in special drives across the country in the last 24 hours.
They all were apprehended on the specific allegations, AIG (media and PR) of Police Headquarters Md Manzur Rahman told Jago News on Sunday night.
He said police headquarters instructed countrywide special drives from December 1 to 15 following the snatching of two convicted militants from police custody in a court area in capital Dhaka on November 20 and in a bid to make the celebration of Victory Day, Christmas Day, and 31st Night safe.
In continuation of this, police conducted some 2,321 drives in the past 24 hours and arrested 1,356 people, he added.
