The female students have outnumbered their male counterparts in terms of pass rate in this year’s SSC or equivalent examinations.
A total of 8,73,573 female students passed the examinations with 87.71 percent success rate this year while the number of successful male students is 8,70,0,46 with 87.16 percent pass rate, according to the SSC results published on Monday, reports BSS.
Among the GPA-5 holders this year, 1,48,446 are female while 1,21,156 are male students.
A total of 2,975 educational institutions achieved 100 percent pass rate in the examinations, while the number was 5,494 last year.
Of those, 225 institutions are from Dhaka, 147 from Rajshahi, 211 from Cumilla, 513 from Jashore, 71 from Chattogram, 149 from Barishal, 27 from Sylhet, 87 from Dinajpur, 64 from Mymensingh while 1,305 are under Madrasah Board and 176 under Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB),
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina officially announced the results through video conferencing from Ganobhaban.
Results are also now available through mobile operators’ short messaging service (SMS) and at the www.educationboardresults.gov.bd website.
The SSC and its equivalent examinations began on September 15 as per the revised and rearranged syllabus and the exam of each subject took place in 2 hours instead of 3 hours.
