Flee before time runs out, Fakhrul to govt

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has told the government to flee before time runs out, otherwise, countrymen will force to escape.

"Now people of Bangladesh want your (government) removal. Escape before time runs out, otherwise, the people of this country will remove you," he said.

He made the remarks while addressing the party's Cumilla divisional mass rally at the city's Town Hall ground on Saturday afternoon.

Mirza Fakhrul said the Awami League-led government destroyed BNP's all achievements in the last 15 years and now corruption is everywhere in the country.

Saying the current government chewed the reserve and there are not enough dollars for import-export for the next three months, he questioned, "Where did so much reserve go"?

About the commodity prices hike, the BNP secretary general said though people have no income, Awami League men continued earning through extortion and partisanship, and are running the country's economy by looting.

BNP standing committee members Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain and Nazrul Islam Khan, and vice chairman Barkatullah Bulu, among others, spoke at the program.

BNP held the rally in Cumilla today as part of its mass rallies in divisional cities seeking the party chief Khaleda Zia's unconditional release, election-time non-party impartial government, and protesting fuel prices hike, deaths, of leaders and activists by police, attack and false cases against them.
