Awami League has nominated advocate Hosne Ara Lutfa Dalia as the party's mayoral candidate to contest the Rangpur City Corporation elections.
A press release signed by AL Office Secretary Barrister Biplob Barua said this on Wednesday.
Being directed by Awami League President and its local government representative nomination board chief Sheikh Hasina, AL General Secretary Obaidul Quader announced her name as a mayoral aspirant, the release said.
The voting in Rangpur City Corporation elections is scheduled to be held on December 27. Candidates can submit nomination papers until November 29.
