Six dengue patients died and 559 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours until Saturday morning.
With the latest death, a total of 226 people died of dengue to date, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said.
Currently, 2,764 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka.
Of them, 1,552 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 1,212 are in other divisions.
As many as 52,161 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year.
Some 49,171 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
