Five dengue patients died and 796 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours until Wednesday morning.
With the latest death, a total of 187 people died of dengue to date, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said.
Currently, 3,144 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka.
Of them, 1,915 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 1,229 are in other divisions.
As many as 45,598 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year.
Some 42,267 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
