A garment worker couple was killed in a road accident on Dhaka-Aricha highway at Srirampur area in Dhamrai upazila of Dhaka around 7:30am on Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as Md Israfil and his wife Swapna Begum of Shoaldhan area at Sanora union in the upazila.
Police said, the couple was going to their workplace by a by-cycle in the morning. When they reached Srirampur area, a speedy bus ran it over, killing them on the spot. Later, police recovered the bodies and seized the bus.
Confirming the matter to Jago News, Masud Khan, Officer-in-charge of Golra Highway Police Station, said they are trying to detain the driver and helper of the bus.
