Five dengue patients died and 440 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours until Friday morning.
With the latest death, a total of 128 people died of dengue to date, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said.
Currently, 3,539 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka.
Of them, 2,280 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 1,259 are in other divisions.
As many as 35,262 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year.
Some 31,595 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
