The miscreants shot a young man to death in a Rohingya camp in Ukhiya upazila of Cox's Bazar district on Tuesday evening.
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Salam, 37, a resident of Block-C of Kutupalong 2 No. camp.
Captain of 14 Armed Police Battalion (APBn) ADIG Syed Harunur Rashid confirmed the incident to Jago News.
He said a group of eight to 10 people wearing masks shot the youth to death at Block-C of Kutupalong 2 No. camp around 6 pm.
The motive of the murder could not be known yet, he said, adding that a drive is underway to detain those involved in the killing.
A total of six Rohingya people were killed in October.
