Bangladesh national team cricketer Al-Amin Hossain has divorced his wife Israt Jahan.
He informed the matter to the court of Dhaka Additional Metropolitan Magistrate Md Tofajjal Hossain on Thursday.
Earlier, the cricketer appeared before the court in a maintenance case filed by his wife.

A hearing on the matter will be held after five days, the lawyer added.
In this connection, Al’Amin’s wife said, she didn’t get any divorce paper.
“I am not getting fair trial. I want justice,” Israt Jahan said.
On September 27, Al-Amin secured bail upon a bond of Taka 5,000 in in the case after surrendering before the court. The court granted him bail till October 6.
Ishrat Jahan filed a complaint with Mirpur Model Thana on August 1 alleging that Al-Amin tortured and physically abused her for dowry. Also, the victim was forcefully driven out of her house with her minor kids, the complaint said.
After primary investigation and verification, police registered the complaint as a case of domestic violence the next day.
On September 6, Al-Amin was granted an eight-week anticipatory bail by the High Court.
The next day, the victim filed another case against the sportsperson seeking maintenance of her and children. A warrant was issued against him asking him to be present before the court the same day.
