A five-member committee has been formed to investigate the reason behind the grid failure that triggered a countrywide blackout on Tuesday.
Md Yakub Elahi Chowdhury, Executive Director of the Power Grid Company of Bangladesh (PGCB), will lead the investigation.
The committee was formed on Tuesday night after State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid directed the power division to form two inquiry committees over the incident.
It is to be noted that, the national power transmission grid failed at 2:05 pm causing blackouts across Bangladesh, except some parts of the north. Later, the electricity was back by 9pm.
Earlier, in 2014 power outage took place in the country due to national grid failure.
