Militants-run training camps in Chars of Northern Region

Law enforcers have identified several hundreds of remote chars of country’s Northern Region as training hideout of Islamists radicals and extremists groups.These remote chars which are mainly used as training hideout by Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), banned Islamist militant group, are under the surveillance of detectives.Law enforcers also tried out find out the training hideout of militants who took part in Gulshan and Solakia attacks, Benazir Ahmed, Director General of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) said on Monday in a press briefing.Several intelligence officers hints that Solakia attacker Shoriful, was arrested by RAB with arms, was trained in these chars.  Shoriful unveiled that they were trained to run arms in several chars of Jumuna River in Bogra, Gaibandha and Kurigram districts.Md Shahabuddin Khan, Captain of RAB-12 said during the day long drives of joint forces on July 18, law enforced found existence of some houses inside of Pine and Kashban.Those houses might have been used as shelter of militants during training period, he said.
