The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court (SC) has stayed the bail of Md Bayezid Talha till October 31, in a case lodged over unscrewing nuts and bolts of Padma Bridge's railing, reports BSS.
Justice M Enayetur Rahim passed the order on Sunday morning.
As his bail was declined in the lower court, Talha appealed in the High Court and secured bail on September 14. The state filed an appeal to the Appellate Division to stay the bail order.
CID arrested Talha from the capital's Shantinagar area on June 26, shortly after his TikTok video went viral where he was seen unscrewing the nuts and bolts from the railing of the Padma bridge.
He was placed on a seven-day remand by Shariatpur Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md Salehujjaman in the case lodged under The Special Powers Act the next day.
