Field trip for Green University journalism students held

Soroj Mehedi (Md Mahady Hasan), a teacher of the Journalism and Media Communication Department of Green University, has taken a practical journalism class (field trip) at the Bangladesh Aviation Museum with the slogan "Not in class but in field". The first and second semester students of the department participated in the class held on Wednesday afternoon.

Later, they toured the entire museum as part of a class activity. They collected data, photos, and footage to prepare reports on the inspections. They also talked to the visitors about the facilities and problems of the museum as well as interviewed the authorities concerned. Each student will write a report or feature as part of the field trip. Out of them, the best three will be selected and awarded.

When asked, second semester student Zubair Ahmed said, "We are very happy to come here. We have previously read in class what is news, how to write news, and what is meant by source. Today we are doing them by hand. Thank you, sir, for this initiative. Hopefully, there will be more such classes in the future. Then, we can learn a lot. I can develop myself as a real worthy student of journalism."

First semester student Sanjana Dhali said, "I came to study journalism out of passion. I want to take up journalism as a profession. Thank you, Mehedi sir for such an initiative that will make us worthy. I also thank our department, and Chairperson sir, too. Hopefully, this trend will continue."

The field trip started at 3 pm and ended at 6 pm. At that time, the sky was thick with clouds. Students go home as usual. Fatigue in their eyes and peace in their hearts. The satisfaction of being able to learn journalism by hand. As a result, they returned home tired but happy.

When asked, Green University's Journalism and Media Communication Dept teacher Soroj Mehedi said, "Green University of Bangladesh is working to develop qualified graduates for the fourth industrial revolution we are talking about. For this purpose, along with classroom learning, field learning is equally emphasized. The result is a combination of knowledge and skills. Today we made a start, which will continue in the future."
