The Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) has sought the bank statements of BNP leader and businessman Abdul Awal Mintu's son Tabith Awal and four other people.
The four others are Tafsir Mohammad Awal, and Tajwar Mohammad Awal, sons of BNP vice chairman Abdul Awal Mintu, Maya Margerita, wife of Tafsir Mohammad Awal, and Zakir Khan, son of Zahir Khan.
BFIU, a central organization for the prevention of money laundering and financing of terrorism, sent letter to the banks on Monday, asking these to provide it their bank statements by Thursday (September 8).
