A VVIP chartered flight of the Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the Prime Minister and her entourage members departed the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, Dhaka at 10 am and landed at the Palam Airport, New Delhi at 12pm (BD time).
State Minister for Railways and Textiles of India Darshana Vikram and Bangladesh High Commissioner to India Muhammad Imran received the premier.
Usually, when the head of government goes on a state visit, the foreign minister accompanies.
On 18 August, while speaking as the chief guest at a Janmashtami programme in JM Sen Hall in Chattrogram, the foreign minister said he had requested the Indian government to do whatever was necessary to help Bangladesh maintain stability and harmony.
