Nationalization of independent Ebtedayee madrasas sought

Teachers of independent Ebtedayee madrasas have placed a seven-point demand including nationalization of their job and resumption of discontinued student stipends.

The leaders of the Bangladesh Independent Ebtedayee Madrasa Teachers Association put the demands in a human chain program in front of Jatiya Press Club around 11 am on Wednesday.

Mentioning that the ebtedayee madrasas were not nationalized for a long, the organization coordinator Kazi Fayezur Rahman said that is why they drew the attention of the government through today's human chain to accept their seven-point demand in this regard without delay.

"We, the teachers, have been agitating for several years but authorities did not pay heed. We are passing an inhuman life with family, and being neglected everywhere," he said.

The demands are as follows:

1. Nationalization of independent Ebtedayee madrasas like primary schools.

2. Implementation of Independent Ebtedayee Madrasa Policy-2018.

3. Withdrawing stay order of permission of teaching in independent Ebtedayee madrasas.

4. Inclusion of the registered independent Ebtedayee madrasas without code into the Madrasa Education Board code.

5. Resumption of discontinued stipends for the students of independent Ebtedayee madrasas.

6. Creating an office assistant position in independent Ebtedayee madrasa like primary schools.
