The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has named Afif Hossain as the Tigers vice-captain for the T20 Asia Cup in the UAE.
The 22-year old left-hander has played 47 T20 internationals for Bangladesh since making his debut in February 2018, reports BSS.
Since his debut, Afif played consistently well to establish him as key middle order batter of the Tigers. The team management said he will bat at most crucial No. 4 position in the Asia Cup.
Bangladesh is drawn in Group B along with Afghanistan and Sri Lanka. Even though the tournament started on August 27, Bangladesh will play their first match on August 30 against Afghanistan at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
Afghanistan meanwhile made a crushing start, whacking Sri Lanka past by eight wickets in the opening game.
