Traffic constable crushed under lorry in Uttara

An on-duty traffic constable was crushed under the wheels of a lorry in the capital’s Uttara early Sunday. 

The deceased was identified as Kazi Masud, 38, son of Kazi Hemayet Uddin, of Dhopakhali village in Kachua upazila of Bagerhat. 

Md Yeasin Gazi, Inspector (investigation) of Uttara Paschim Police Station, confirmed the matter to Jago News. 

He said, Masud was performing his duty on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway near Tasin Pump in Abdullahpur. A lorry hit him from behind and crushed him under its wheels around 3:45am.

Being informed, police recovered the body and sent it to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy, the police office said.
