The owner of 'Barishal Hotel' has been placed on a day remand in a case filed over the fire incident that killed six people in Old Dhaka's Chawkbazar area.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Jashim passed the order after police had produced Md Fakhruddin before the court, seeking a seven-day remand.
The law enforcers arrested him early today in connection with the incident.
Earlier on Monday, a fire broke out in a plastic factory at Debidas Lance in Chawkbazar area, leaving six people dead.
Later, a case was lodged with Chawkbazar Police Station in this connection.
