Mohammad Ali Mia made CID chief

Additional Inspector General of Police Mohammad Ali Mia has been appointed as the new chief of Police's Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

He, also the head of Tourist Police, replaces outgoing chief Barrister Mahbubur Rahman who went on retirement on July 30.

The Ministry of Home Affairs on Tuesday issued a circular appointing Mohammad Ali in the post.

Earlier, Mohammad Ali Mia held different positions in Bangladesh Police, including police's special branch (SB) DIG, Dhaka range additional DIG, and Habiganj and Manikganj districts SP. Lastly, he was performing duties as the chief of Tourist Police, the sources in Police Headquarters said.
