Robbery, gang-rape on moving bus: 6 accused remanded

A court in Tangail on Tuesday afternoon placed six accused in the case filed over the robbery and gang-rape on a moving bus in the district on three-day remand. 

Tangail Judicial Magistrate Court's judge Farzana Hasanat passed the order after police had produced them before the court. 

The remanded accused are Shohag Mondal, 20, Khandaker Hasmot Ali alias Dipu, 23, Babu Hossain alias Zulhas, 21, Md Jibon, 21, Abdul Mannan, 22, and Naim Sarker Munna, 19.

The court inspector Tanbir Ahmed confirmed the matter to Jago News.

Earlier on Sunday night, Rapid Action Battalion members arrested them from different areas of Dhaka, Gazipur, and Sirajganj district. 

It is to be noted that, a bus of Eagle Paribahan with 30-35 passengers was going to Dhaka from Kushtia on the night of August 2. A group of robbers boarded the bus when it made a stopover at a hotel in Sirajganj. 

Later, they gang-raped a female passenger after looting mobiles, cash money, and ornaments from other passengers of the bus in Madhupur upazila of Tangail.
