Bangladesh and China have signed four MoUs (memorandum of understanding) with the aim to boost bilateral cooperation.
The MoUs were signed after a meeting between Foreign Minister A K Abdul Momen and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka on Sunday.
The meeting started around 7:45am.
The two ministers discussed various bilateral issues of their respective countries.
Wang Yi in the meeting said that the Bangladeshi students studying in different Chinese universities, who had to come back home due to Covid-19 pandemic, will be able to return to their respective university campuses soon.
“Visas will be issued [to the students] at the earliest,” he added.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi arrived in the capital of Dhaka on Saturday afternoon to discuss bilateral, regional, and global issues with Bangladesh’s leadership.
Agriculture Minister and Awami League Presidium Member Muhammad Abdur Razzaque received him at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in Dhaka.
Wang Yi is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today.
