A dawn-to-dusk hartal has been called in Bhola for Thursday protesting the death of district unit Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) president Nure Alam during a clash between police and BNP men.
Golam Nabi Alamgir, president of the district unit BNP, made the announcement in a rally protesting the death in front of the party office on Wednesday afternoon.
Earlier on Sunday, BNP men and police clashed in front of the district BNP office, leaving a leader of Swechchasebak Dal dead and more than 50 leaders and activists of BNP and its affiliated organizations, including the district unit JCD president Nure Alam injured.
At around 3:10 pm today, Nure Alam succumbed to his injuries at Comfort Hospital at Green Road in the capital of Dhaka.
